Fête de la Science 2024 – Escape Game – Rescue the Polycystic Kidney Disease Biobank! Institut Necker Enfants Malades - Paris

For my very first time organizing an activity at the Fête de la Science, I had the chance to design something original and playful with my colleagues: a 30-minute escape game for the general public.

Workshop 3 – Escape Game – Rescue the Polycystic Kidney Disease Biobank!

Our team, focused on the mechanisms and therapeutics of kidney diseases, recruited visitors as young researchers for a day to help save our precious biobank filled with urine samples from patients affected by polycystic kidney disease.

Participants joined our laboratory at Institut Necker Enfants Malades for a mission that combined fun and science: solving puzzles, uncovering clues, and learning simple biological concepts. The game highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary research in driving innovation and advancing our understanding of chronic kidney diseases.

It was truly inspiring to see participants engage with science in such an interactive way, combining curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving. This first experience organizing an event for the Fête de la Science was both exciting and rewarding — and I look forward to creating more scientific adventures in the years to come!
